SEC Launches 'Thank-a-Lineman' Campaign for April

CREWE, Va – In connection with the annual celebration of National Lineman Appreciation Day on Monday, April 13th, Southside Electric Cooperative (SEC) is asking members to help honor our linemen during the month of April.

SEC linemen work tirelessly through all weather conditions to keep the lights on, often leaving their families in the middle of the night to put their lives on the line to ensure the delivery of reliable power to all SEC members. They are the Cooperative’s ‘first responders,’ restoring power and ensuring safety during the heat of summer and bitter cold of winter, 24 hours a day, every day.

For the month of April, SEC invites members to take a moment to thank a lineman for the tough work they do serving the cooperative.  Letters or short notes expressing appreciation and gratitude will be gladly accepted throughout the month, and select tributes will be published to SEC’s website and in the June issue of Cooperative Living Magazine.

Members wishing to participate can send tributes via email to ThankALineman@sec.coop or via Facebook. Members may also mail their appreciation letters to P.O. Box 7, Crewe, VA 23930.

SEC proudly recognizes all electric utility linemen for the services they perform a round the clock, often in dangerous conditions, to keep the lights on and protect the safety of the public.

Southside Electric Cooperative (SEC) is a not-for-profit member-owned energy provider that serves over 55,000 homes, farms and businesses in portions of 18 counties in central and southern Virginia.  Headquartered in Crewe, SEC has district offices in Altavista, Crewe, Dinwiddie and Powhatan.  For more information, go to www.sec.coop or visit us on Facebook or Twitter.
