Outage Restoration Update (10:00PM): Power restoration efforts continue tonight for outages affecting the remaining ~1,100 members impacted by earlier storm damage. SEC encourages some members to prepare for overnight outages, as our dedicated and determined crews and contractors will continue throughout the night repairing the remaining outages caused by downed lines, broken poles and crossarms. New crews are scheduled to take over repairs first thing in the morning - we will work until everyone's electricity is restored.
The safety of crews and our SEC members is of upmost importance during an outage.
Safety reminders during an outage:
• Never approach a downed power line. Always assume a downed power line is live and dangerous!
• If using a portable generator, be sure to closely follow manufacturers’ directions for installation and operation - only operate outside of the home.
• Use battery powered flashlights - never burn candles as a light source.
