Planned Outage on July 17, 2021
Southside Electric Cooperative will have a planned power outage on Saturday, July 17, to repair a damaged crossarm located on part of our transmission line. The damaged crossarm is located in Dinwiddie County, and the planned outage will affect members served off the Lake Chesdin substation and all members served by the Gill substation. All members involved are being notified via telephone.
Due to safety concerns, we cannot work on the repair with the lines energized; therefore, we need to have a planned outage.
The outage is scheduled in the morning from 8 A.M. – 10 A.M. to avoid the heat of the day. It will last approximately two hours. Having the planned outage on Saturday allows for uninterrupted work time for those members working from home during the week.
We apologize for this interruption of service and appreciate your patience as we continue to safeguard the reliability of your electric cooperative. For more information, please telephone SEC’s Member Services at 1-800-552-2118.
